April 17th Richard Jordan will talk about Hazel McCallion and the Mississauga train derailment
May 15th Richard Fiennes-Clinton from Fort York; Muddy York Tours will talk about Frank William Micklethwaite, a 19th century photographer of the 1880's and 1890's who is credited with many early images of Toronto
June 5th Kristen den Hartog will talk about the wounded soldiers who returned after World War 1 and the opening of a military hospital in 1919 near Christie and Dupont. Her talk delves into the lives of this hospital's patients and staff and uses old letters, diaries, military service records and newspaper articles to explore how ordinary people dealt with the ways war had changed them, and how the medical community- and the city - grew by leaps and bounds in this fascinating period in Toronto history.
